Write up and showcase stories: career paths that individual women and communities of women have followed and thrived in, what thriving entailed, what inspired them, what obstacles they have faced, how they dealt with them, and what lessons they learnt.
1-1 matching mentees with mentors (similar discipline) -- Every woman should have at least one mentor
Develop mentoring principles and forums: training and note-sharing in how to mentor and how to be mentored
building/joining womens’ network within areas, including interdisciplinary
building/joining womens’ network across areas - e.g. "leader/admin"-type networks
Building peer sub-networks within the above two networks (thanks, Preeti V)
build and execute strategy and tactics for acquiring the necessary resources, individually and collectively
Promote women and help navigate and/or climb existing power structure
build awareness of implicit/systemic/institutionalized bias, inequities, e.g.
2-body placement problems, and
combining child-bearing and parenting with work
build and execute strategy and tactics for dismantling the systemic/implicit biases and power structure that hinders full participation, individually and collectively
collaborate with, choose and support specific causes championed by STEM sister groups, avoid duplication,
challenge and hold accountable such causes adopted by the institution, retain independence
establish connection to more general support groups and professional counselors who understand and address womens perspectives on all problems
