I have a lovely wife of thirty two years, a sixteen year old boy and a ten year old girl. God has blessed my family as he helps us to live for Him.
I was raised on a farm in rural Michigan. It was a pleasure working with my father as he taught me how to work and not be afraid of getting my hands dirty. After I became a Christian at the age of nineteen, I shared Christ with my Dad and he accepted the Lord Jesus. I had the privilege of being with him just before he passed into eternity and reminded him of God’s promises to us which gave him peace. My family and I prayed with him as the Lord helped us all. What a blessing he was to me.
I worked in the trades for a few years before I joined the Army. This was an act of obedience, God directed me to go-so I went. God used this time to teach me about discipleship (doing what you are told) and team work. He also used this experience to teach me about my spiritual gifts of teaching and leadership. As a Helicopter Instructor Pilot I learned skills in academic and practical instruction. I would teach academics in the morning and teach flight techniques in the cockpit the same afternoon. I enjoyed working with people and helping them master the skills needed to fly.
I retired from the Army in 2006 and work for the government as a Flight Instructor in simulation. I have used this time to continue my education at Liberty University. I received a Master of Divinity in Christian Professional Ministry (2015), Master Degree in Christian Discipleship (2012) and a Bachelor of Science (cognates Business and Aviation, 2009).
I have worked in church as a Small Group Ministry Leader and have filled the pulpit for the South Central Baptist Association, specifically Living Legacy Church in Hershey as they were finding their new Pastor. I preached at three other churches in the area. I also am an Evangelism Explosion teacher and trainer.
The Lord has led me to understand that the church that is displayed in Scripture is more of a family than a government or conglomerate organization and is different from most churches today. I am convinced that the Lord desires the church to be what is described in Scripture. Therefore, the church must be obedient and conform to God’s design as a family. Then the church will be able experience God according to the spirit and the truth and bear fruit. Religion will never deliver that dynamic, only Jesus will!
"But an hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for such people the Father seeks to be His worshipers. "God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth." John 4:23-24 (NASB)
