The Bible shows us the way to have access to God and receive eternal life.
Jesus *said to him, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me." John 14:6 (NASB)
Jesus answered and said to them, "This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He has sent." John 6:29 (NASB)
If you could Know God, would you Want to Know God?
Unbelief is sin because you refuse the salvation God has provided and you will be without Christ Eternally.
1. Who is Jesus? Jesus is our Creator and is fully God and fully man.
“He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. For by Him all things were created, both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things have been created through Him and for Him. He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together.” Colossians 1:15-17
Jesus said, “Truly, truly, I say to you, before Abraham was born, I am.” John 8:58
Jesus is the Word. God’s Word is fully expressed, fulfilled and realized in Christ.
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. John 1:1
“And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth.” John 1:14
Jesus is the only way to God. Jesus *said, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me. John 14:6
2. What has He come to provide? Salvation through the New Covenant in His blood.
Jesus said to them, “This is My blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many.” Mark 14:24 (NASB)
Four tenants of the New Covenant: (Reference: Hebrews 8 from Jeremiah 31:31-34.)
a. He writes His law on our heart and mind. (Born Again, Image of Christ).
b. Ownership. God is our God and we are His people. (Shepherd and sheep)
c. We will all know God, from the least to the greatest.
d. I will remember their sins no more.
Jesus said, “No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him; and I will raise him up on the last day.” John 6:44
3. Do you want Salvation or Judgment at the end of your life?
He has appeared one time, at the end of the ages, for the removal of sin by the sacrifice of Himself. And just as it is appointed for people to die once—and after this, judgment — so also the Messiah, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for Him. Hebrews 9:26–28 (HCSB)
But the day of the Lord will come like a thief, in which the heavens will pass away with a roar and the elements will be destroyed with intense heat, and the earth and its works will be burned up. 2 Peter 3:10 (NASB 95)
This presentation of Scripture is designed with consideration of the operation of the Holy Spirit to discuss the sin of unbelief, the righteousness of Christ and the judgment to come.
John 16:8–11 (NASB 95)
Jesus said, "And He, when He comes, will convict the world concerning sin and righteousness and judgment; 9 concerning sin, because they do not believe in Me; 10 and concerning righteousness, because I go to the Father and you no longer see Me; 11 and concerning judgment, because the ruler of this world has been judged."
