Gone are the days when oil and land tycoons topped Forbes’ richest list. Today, tech CEOs top these charts and leave huge margins in between the top spots. Through the years, their meteoric growth is well-documented. Here are today’s tech CEOs and their individual net worth.
Jeff Bezos ($112.6 billion)
Retail giant Amazon went through a lot of changes over the last couple of years to reach its current spot in the tech industry. Starting off with retail, the company has its own set of subsidiaries including an online channel, web services, ebooks, and many more.
Bill Gates ($90.5 billion)
In the last few decades, Bill Gates has been mostly on the number one spot in the world’s richest list. 18 out of the last 24 years, in fact. This year, he goes down one spot as he focuses more on philanthropy. Keep in mind that his current net worth does not reflect the $30 billion he has already donated to charity over the years.
Mark Zuckerberg ($71.4 billion)
What started in a college dorm room in 2004 is now the biggest social media platform in the planet. In its early years, Facebook was offered to be bought by tech giants such as Yahoo! for a mere fraction of what the company is worth today.
Larry Page ($47.8 billion)
Page was Google’s co-founder and was its first CEO until 2001. Of course, we all know Google and its subsidiaries like Youtube, the world’s most-used search engine.
