One would think that the heads of Fortune 500 companies, with their enormous net worth, would be sitting pretty for the rest of their worldly lives. The reality of it is quite the opposite. People with the highest net worth in the world have always looked for more opportunities to invest. This is what sets them apart.
While ultra-high net worth individuals normally have a lot on their plate, they still seek out some alternative investments into which they can either put their money in or expand their own enterprise.
Take, for instance, real estate. Many of the world’s top businessmen own more than just a single property. Some even become property developers themselves, realizing how lucrative the real estate industry can be. Some wealthy people build hotels, shopping malls, and resorts all over the world and enjoy the immense profits to be made. Others engage in buying and restoration of historical properties to add to their collection.
Heads of Fortune 500 companies who don’t go into real estate look for other means such as hedge funds and managed futures. In the latter, a high net worth individual hires either a manager or an entire firm to take care of the finances and assets he and his family have amassed. Most of the people who invest in managed futures however, do so because it’s convenient. With managers taking care of their finances and assets, these high net worth individuals have more time to do the things they need to do for their main endeavors.
