Captain Ray Mendoza has been with the City of Riverside for 20 years. He has been an Arson Investigator since 2009 and in 2017 was promoted to the position of Fire/ Arson Investigations Supervisor. Captain Mendoza has been a STEM LEAPS Instructor since the program began and brings a wealth of knowledge in the area of fire and arson investigation strategies.
Captain Seawright has been with the Riverside City Fire Department for the past 14 years. He is currently assigned to Station 2 which hosts the Hazardous Materials Program and team. He has over a decade of cumulative experience in the Hazmat Mat assignment that is shared between the Operations Division and the USAR (Urban Search & Rescue) team. Before being hired, Captain Seawright earned his Bachelors in Biochemistry and taught High School Biology and Chemistry. Captain Seawright also serves the community in positions of a rescue specialist, shift trainer, and EMS assistant. Captain Seawright understands the value of formal education and has recently completed his Master's in Public Administration from California Baptist University.
