Our Mission

Every year, thousands of mothers suffer from severe pregnancy nausea and Hyperemesis Gravidarum (HG), a pregnancy disease that at its mildest, causes weight loss, malnutrition, depression, and dehydration. At its worst, it results in fetal demise, abortion, brain damage, multi-system organ failure, PTSD, and suicide.

Some studies show that up to 50% of mothers do not receive the care they need.

Stella Maris exists to transform the care of women with severe pregnancy nausea and HG by providing crisis support, guidance to medical professionals, hope to families, and dignified maternal healthcare. Our mission is not just to see that the mother and her baby survive, but that they thrive.
