Crisis Navigation
We want to help mothers feel confident enough to access treatment, medication, and informed medical care quickly.
Pre-Conception Support
Thanks to recent scientific studies, we now know that nausea treatment can begin before pregnancy. We want to provide pre-conception care to the effect of genetic screening (to test for genetic mutations that may worsen nausea, as well as target which nausea medications will work best for her), nutrient testing and replenishment, and an inflammation/histamine lowering protocol. We also want to work with husbands to provide them with health protocols as his genes create the placenta, and the health of the placenta also influences pregnancy nausea.
Pregnancy Support
Even in mild cases of Hyperemesis, many mothers are not able to adequately care or their families, the "burden" of such tasks get shifted onto the husband, and children feel the strain. This places undo stress on the entire family unit and can prolong the mother's recovery as well as contribute to increased rates of depression and anxiety during and after pregnancy. Our goal is to work with a network of providers to supply the family with what they need such as a maid service, child-care, nutritious meals that don't have to actively be cooked indoors, and trauma-informed therapy.
Postpartum Support
Many mothers with HG experience increased rates of PPMD's due to the traumatic nature of their pregnancies as well as genetics. We want to work closely with medical professionals to target nutrient imbalances as well as trauma-informed therapists to support the mother physically and psychologically during her recovery in order to further minimize symptoms of depletion and PPMD's.
Education for Doctors & Midwives
Some studies suggest that about 50% of mothers with Hyperemesis do not receive the care they need during pregnancy and rate their care as "poor" to "extremely poor". We want to work directly with doctors, hospitals, and midwives to provide them with education that empowers them to treat sick mother's quickly, competently, and compassionately. The goal is to catch worsening Morning Sickness and treat it early (best outcomes for the mother and child are shown to happen BEFORE a mother becomes seriously ill), as well as effectively treat severe cases of Hyperemesis.

Through our above, 5 pronged, approach we believe that we can make pregnancy in America more enjoyable and safer by:
Eliminating the 5-25% rate of abortion among mothers with severe pregnancy nausea
Substantially reducing the 34% fetal loss rate among mothers with HG
Lowering the nearly 50% rate of depression, the 29% rate of PPD, and the 20% rate of PTSD that mothers with HG face
Decreasing the rates of premature birth, neurological, and physiological disorders in children born to mothers with HG
Eliminating severe nausea as a limiting factor in family size
Alleviating the estimated $3 billion annual burden of HG on the US healthcare system and affected families
