Since stepping into the Lagos art scene in 2023, Stella Ekpe Samuel—known artistically as Stella —has steadily carved a space for herself in the vibrant contemporary art community. A dedicated visual artist with a unique approach to mixed media, oil pastels, Charcoal, glass and acrylics, she has already gained recognition through key exhibitions and media features. In 2023, Stella was selected to showcase her work at the prestigious October Rain Exhibition at Gemini Art Gallery, where her piece, Resurgence, was displayed alongside works from other emerging and established artists. The exhibition highlighted her distinct style, capturing the attention of collectors and enthusiasts alike. 

Building on that momentum, in 2024, she was invited to exhibit at One Art Gallery, a show hosted by Art Commune, one of Nigeria’s most esteemed artist and art collector communities. For this exhibition, she presented a series of three to four works, further solidifying her presence in the industry and expanding her reach among collectors and critics. 

Beyond exhibitions, Stella has also been featured in various online and print publications that spotlight rising talent in the Nigerian art space. These features underscore her growth and the increasing demand for her work. 

As she continues to evolve, Stella remains open to commissions, collaborations, and residency programs with galleries and collectors both locally and internationally. Her work, rich in cultural elements and tactile depth, is a testament to her commitment to pushing creative boundaries and storytelling through art.
