You will be given an ID on arrival. It contains your photo, the address of the college and the emergency contact number. Please keep it with you all the time. You will need it:
in case of emergency e.g. if you get lost
to check out sports equipment
to prove your age or that you are a student at St. Clare’s
You must leave your money and valuables with the staff when you arrive.
Look after your personal belongings carefully and use the personal locker provided. Do not leave money and valuables lying around your bedroom.
If you lose anything, tell the Welfare Officer or Course Director immediately.
You may also be able to make a claim on the insurance policy included in your course fees. However, the appropriate forms must be completed before you leave the course.
Please note: St. Clare’s accepts no liability if your money or valuables are lost or stolen. It is your responsibility to keep your things safe.
As per the above, please remember that students have sole responsibility for any property they bring to St Clare’s. Please see our Terms and Conditions, in particular sections 4.5 and 5.8-5.10.
We can only hold property that is left behind for a limited period. Any such found items will be donated to charity if they are not claimed within four weeks of the student’s departure.
If you wish to ask if we have found an item, please immediately send an email to summer.admissions@stclares.ac.uk with a full description and ideally a photograph of the item, if it is named and when it was last in the student’s possession.
Once a found item has been positively identified, parents / students are responsible for the costs of any reasonable packaging needed and for arranging collection from St Clare's or shipment to your address.:
Address: Porter’s Lodge at 139 Banbury Road Oxford OX2 7AL
Telephone: 01865 552031
Email for the Porter’s Lodge: reception139@stclares.ac.uk
St Clare’s will prepare the physical package for collection once other arrangements have been agreed and confirmed with us.
Parcels
Please avoid ordering parcels unless absolutely necessary. There is a high chance that your parcel might arrive after you've already left campus, which can create significant issues:
Return costs: Sending parcels back is often expensive.
Customs forms: You will need to fill out a customs form to have your parcel sent back to you.
Delivery delays: You might not be around to receive your parcel.
If you do need to place an order, please ensure that it is sent to the Junior campus address (Headington Rye Oxford Pullens Ln, Headington, Oxford OX3 0BY).
In the event of a fire, you should leave the buildings as quickly as possible and meet on the grass in front of the office.
*IMPORTANT – please note*
A register will be taken when everyone has assembled.
Please be quiet and answer immediately when your name is called.
There will be a fire practice within the first 48 hours of your course.
