You can be sure of a warm welcome when you arrive at the school:
a) The Centre Manager meets you and welcomes each of you individually.
b) The Welfare Manager, helps with the registration process and
gives you an ID card with emergency contact details
checks your money, tickets and passport (and looks after them for you!)
allocates your room number.
A member of the team shows you to your room and, if you are sharing, introduces you to your room-mates.
a) Explore the gardens, the play areas and the dining room.
b) If you are hungry or thirsty, get some food and drinks, which are available in the dining room all day.
c) PLEASE telephone your parents! They will want to know that you have arrived safely! You can make a phone call from the office.
There is plenty to do when you arrive ….
a) Make new friends around the school during the afternoon and evening
b) Join in the board games and craft activities in the common room
c) Play rounders or football on the field
d) If you are tired, you can rest in your room (but let one of the staff members know where you are!)
There is an important House Meeting on your first evening. The aims are:
a) to explain the House Rules to you
b) to show you where you can get help from a member of staff during the night
c) to make sure that you know what to do if there is an Emergency
