At St Barnabas Preschool, we are proud to offer a warm, inclusive, and nurturing environment where every child is supported to thrive at their own pace. With many years of experience in Special Educational Needs (SEN), our dedicated and highly skilled SEN team provides tailored support that meets the individual needs of each child. We work closely with families to create personalised strategies and interventions, such as Early Talk Boost, to help children build confidence, communication skills, and a love of learning. Our experienced staff also collaborate with Speech and Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists, and other specialist professionals to ensure every child receives the right support at the right time. In addition, we have extensive experience in completing Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) applications, guiding families with care and understanding throughout the process. At St Barnabas, we believe every child is unique, capable, and deserving of the very best opportunities—and our compassionate, experienced team is here to help them shine.
Tuff trays are an excellent tool for supporting children with SEN, offering a contained, hands-on space where they can explore sensory, creative, and learning activities at their own pace, helping to develop focus, confidence, and fine motor skills.
Sensory play is vital for children with SEN, as it helps develop communication, coordination, emotional regulation, and cognitive skills while providing a calming and engaging way to explore the world around them.
Thanks to our high staff-to-child ratio, we can offer personalised 1:1 support to children who need it, allowing them to develop confidence, independence, and their full potential in a nurturing environment.
