Chasing Your White Rabbit

Animals have long represented special meanings to inspire human achievement, from the lion that symbolizes majesty to the raven that represents bad fortune. Disney has carried on this tradition by the use of The White Rabbit from Alice in Wonderland. This animal symbolizes love, tenderness, and courage. Traits we all should admire to have. As we journey through life seeking success, we have a lot to learn from The White Rabbit. For if we follow the characteristics surrounding love, tenderness, and courage we can all get closer to our goals.

Love

We all have been told to love our parents, friends, and special people in our lives. However, have you been able to love yourself?  The fact is if you are not comfortable with yourself the path to success will be almost impossible. It's like trying to drive a great car without an engine. You can only go so far unless you learn to believe in yourself. You need to love your positive and negative features and understand no one is perfect. If you don’t come to terms with yourself, people will only see your outer shell and not your heart.  The outer shell will not attract anyone as it is your heart that holds the special love that will draw people to your awesome presence.

Tenderness

To achieve greatness, there are many who will put on their armor, raise their shield, and go to war in order to meet the challenges of the day. But in doing so, they often forget the definition of success. That is: they hit their goal but are aware of the condition of those around them. What’s the use of being a great success while having those around you struggle with mental or physical problems which cause them great pain? Now I’m not saying to ease their pain by giving them money.  If that is something you can financially accomplish, please do what you can, but I’m talking about more being there for them.  Money will come and go but having the support of someone and giving them a positive thought or assistance with a physical problem can mean the world to them. Lifting those around you to a better life is just as important as raising yourself to magnificent success.

Courage

We all know the Cowardly Lion from the Wizard of Oz and his path to receiving courage in the film. It’s amazing how many of us, whether we admit it or not, had a much more difficult journey in gaining courage than this character. The reason is as we navigate life, the challenges often change and can require a different kind of courage.  The courage to win a marathon is much different than the courage needed to perform a sales presentation.  The reason being is each has its own set of obligations before you hit your goal and become successful. The truth is you need to learn to develop courage to meet each crazy and wild situation in life. You will rarely see the variables of a situation align exactly in the format.  You develop the courage to experience each challenge as it comes into your life.

That wild and crazy white rabbit hops around us all our lives. We won’t always catch our friend but if we listen hard enough, we can at least hear its advice as it hops by us.  Don’t be late for your important date and be ready when your calling comes.
