I am a licensed clinical psychologist with a long-standing fascination with what minds do when nothing is happening — boredom, for a start, but also how we regulate (or fail to regulate) our emotions in everyday life. My work bridges clinical practice and cutting-edge research methods, from comprehensive psychological assessment to multimodal experiments combining fNIRS, eye-tracking, and HRV, along with AI-assisted analysis workflows.

My dissertation examines how boredom relates to emotional eating in early adults (ages 18–29), combining a latent profile analysis of boredom-related risk profiles with a randomized experiment that integrates functional near-infrared spectroscopy (fNIRS), eye-tracking, and heart rate variability (HRV) measures.

Current Research Topics

Exploring diverse profiles within the borderline intellectual functioning (BIF) population and strategies to enhance adaptive functioning.

I am interested in how psychological vulnerability is passed from one generation to the next, and how early experiences shape this process. In particular, I study how parents’ own experiences may influence their children through caregiving and attachment, and what helps interrupt or soften this transmission. Ultimately, both my research and clinical work are driven by a simple hope: what we inherit does not have to be what we pass on.
