Another year and another fantastic club run of the Saints Way. We had mixed group this year and it was fantastic to be able to run with people of all paces, we appreciate those faster runners who really encouraged everyone along the route. Whether running 1 mile at the end or the full 30 mile route, everyone challenged themselves and achieved fantastic miles. Thank you especially to Gillian, Dawn and Andy for the support along the route, the day wouldn't be the same without the 5 mile picnics! See you all again next year and let's hope the weather is as beautiful!
This quarter Doug has led a number of social runs in some fantastic locations, with challenging terrain, but with good company and laughter. Thank you for organising these and we hope to see more throughout the rest of the year. These are open to all runners, so give it a go and who knows where you will discover!

A bunch of members went to listen to Louise Minchin talk about her book "Fearless". In the book, she meets women taking on incredible sports and gives them a go from ice swimming, to cycling the length of Peru, to pot holing. Well worth a read and very inspiring!
A number of members were parkrun locals and tourists this month, with Claire Johnson reaching 100 parkruns and STARC members supporting and running Parkrun every week, well done! Please be sure to volunteer and support your local Parkrun whenever you can.
In May STARC members went on a Swim/Run holiday to Croatia, organised by Luxury Sport Breaks and Mad Hatters. This is a highly recommended trip, with running for all abilities across various distances, always finishing with coffee and ice-cream. Great coaching from the hosts and an opportunity to talk about running for a while week! You can also get in some swim practice too, in the beautiful turquoise Mediterranean sea.
For 2024, STARC are considering some alternative social events. If you have an ideas please let us know.
