The year is 2200, 2400 on the Federation calendar. A Romulan colony on the furthest reaches of Imperial space, near the edge of the explored Beta Quadrant, that not even the Federation knew about, struggles between remaining loyal to the Empire and seceding like so many colonies have done since the fall from power of the Tal Shiar during the Dominion War.

Jhuir Itaeru (The Angel's Door) is a major resource producing colony for the Empire. It has also become a hotbed for relocation of refugees, who wish to remain loyal to the Empire, from colonies who have rebelled. If it were to fall to the influence of these rebels, it could lead to a cascade of other colonies joining and cutting a swath through what's left of Imperial space.

The colonial military detachment stands by its orders to protect the colony, but some feel they should not protect potential insurrectionists, while also blind to possible dissent within their own ranks.

The people of Jhuir Itaeru are divided. Debate of their future, and at times even violence, are rampant. Most just go about their daily lives trying to earn a living.

All the while, in the shadows lurk agents of what is left of the Tal Shiar. They stir the pot of emotions in attempts to keep the populace loyal to the Empire. While Tal Diann agents openly threaten their military brethren, forcing them into loyalty.
