This notice explains how we handle information provided through registrations, enquiries, research, product testing, test sales, purchases, bookings and related activities.
It should be read together with our Privacy Policy and any information provided for the specific form, project or service.
Unless the relevant form identifies another operator, your information is collected by Star Navigation.
Privacy enquiries: sushitycoon@stanavi.com
Privacy Policy: https://sites.google.com/view/star-navigation/about-us/privacy-policy
If we collect information on behalf of a research client or another service operator, the project information will explain the respective parties and their roles.
The relevant form or activity identifies the purpose for which information is requested.
Depending on that activity, the purpose may be:
Recruitment registration, career support or an agreed employer introduction.
Employer enquiries, vacancy preparation and recruitment coordination.
Market, consumer, preference, pricing, product, concept or advertising research.
Product testing, sample delivery, test purchases and feedback collection.
Business development and evaluation of products or services.
Processing purchases, payments, deliveries, returns or customer enquiries.
Managing bookings, catering, events or cultural services.
Necessary administration, security, complaint handling and legal compliance.
These are different possible purposes. Your participation in one activity does not authorise every purpose on this list.
We explain any proposed additional use and obtain any permission required before proceeding.
We request information appropriate to the activity. Fields are identified as required or optional.
If necessary information is not provided, we may be unable to contact you, assess an application, deliver a product, arrange participation, process an incentive or provide the requested service.
You may decline optional questions. Where practical and lawful, we offer anonymous or pseudonymous participation.
A survey is not described as anonymous if your identity can reasonably be linked to its responses. We explain any use of participant identifiers, contact details or linked records.
Please do not provide information about another person unless you have an appropriate basis to do so.
For recruitment, information may include your experience, qualifications, skills, preferences, availability, work rights and relevant application documents.
Before sharing identifiable candidate information with a prospective employer, we explain the employer or opportunity and confirm your agreement to the introduction.
We share only information appropriate for the recruitment purpose. Registration does not make your résumé publicly available or give every employer access to your profile.
Reference checks and any additional checks are explained separately where relevant.
Information supplied by employers is used to assess and coordinate the vacancy. Private contact details and internal commercial information are not automatically included in public advertisements.
For research or testing, we explain the activity, information requested, intended use and relevant recipients.
Results are generally reported in aggregated or appropriately de-identified form. Identifiable responses, contact details, recordings or attributed comments are not supplied to a client without the necessary explanation and permission.
If you provide contact details for an incentive, sample delivery or follow-up, we explain that use. Providing those details does not automatically authorise unrelated marketing.
For tasting, product-use or other testing activities, relevant participation and safety information is provided separately. This privacy notice is not a safety consent form or liability waiver.
For purchases, test sales or bookings, we use the information needed to process the transaction, arrange delivery or service provision, manage payments, communicate with you and handle returns or complaints.
Where we also request research feedback, we explain that purpose separately.
Buying a product or participating in a test sale does not automatically subscribe you to promotional messages.
Necessary information may be handled by authorised staff and operational providers, such as form, storage, payment, delivery, communication and research providers.
Employer, research-client or other external disclosures are limited to the arrangements explained for the activity.
Our activities involve Japan and Australia. Any other relevant overseas recipients and countries are explained in the activity information where required and practicable.
Where specific permission is needed for an overseas disclosure, we provide the required information and request that permission separately. A general acknowledgement of this notice is not a waiver of privacy protections.
If an activity requires sensitive information, such as relevant health or allergy information, we explain why it is needed and obtain consent unless another lawful exception applies.
We request separate permission where appropriate for:
Audio or video recording.
Disclosure of identifiable responses or records to a named recipient.
Publication of your name, image, voice, testimonial or identifiable quotation.
Optional research follow-up.
Optional promotional communications.
Consent to one of these does not automatically cover the others.
Marketing consent is voluntary and is requested separately from participation, registration or purchase requirements.
You may decline or withdraw marketing consent without losing access to an otherwise available service.
You can unsubscribe using the method in a promotional message or contact sushitycoon@stanavi.com.
Necessary communications about the activity you requested may continue on an appropriate basis.
We use reasonable and appropriate security measures and restrict access according to the purpose.
We retain information for the period needed for the activity and applicable legal or recordkeeping obligations. Specific project arrangements are explained where relevant.
For recruitment registrations, we generally review continued retention 24 months after the last substantive contact or update.
When information is no longer needed, we take appropriate steps to delete or de-identify it, subject to lawful retention requirements.
Contact sushitycoon@stanavi.com to request access, correction, withdrawal of consent, deletion or other available action, or to make a privacy complaint.
We respond according to applicable law and explain any limitations.
If you withdraw from research, we explain whether your identifiable contribution can still be removed. Once information has been irreversibly de-identified or incorporated into non-identifiable aggregate results, it may no longer be possible to identify and remove your contribution.
Further information about rights, complaints and our handling practices is available in our Privacy Policy.
Acknowledging this notice confirms that the collection and use arrangements have been brought to your attention.
It does not automatically authorise unrelated marketing, unrestricted sharing, public use of your identity or every future activity of Star Navigation.
Where an activity requires consent, the relevant form explains the specific processing and asks for that consent separately.
