Transportation

By car

Nearest car parking is in front of ZMUC and at a large parking lot east from ZMUC (see map). We are able to issue guest parking coupons to park at the museum. Ask Alexey for a daily parking coupon and visibly place it in your car.

The other option is parking in the nearby park, Fælledparken, marked with a 'A' on the map. If you do this, then remember to buy a parking ticket from the blue machines along the road.

Public transport

From Copehagen airport you can choose public transportation or a taxi.

'All roads lead to Rome' but we recommend to take the metro M2, which will take you to the center of the city: Nørreport St., where you can Bus 42 or Bus 6A: Google Maps Directions

Take Metro M2 in the direction of Vanløse St. (Metro) and get off at Nørreport St. (Metro)
Walk up the Metro to the Bus stop indicated on the map and take either:
- Bus 42 in the direction of Emdrup Torv and get off Jagtvej (Lersø Parkallé)
- Bus 6A in the direction of Buddinge St. and get off Arresøgade (Tagensvej)
Walk across the street to the Zoological Museum

The tickets can be bought at the machines at the metro and train stations. From the airport you will need to buy a ticket for 3 zones.

The public transportation system is extensive with buses, trains and metro:

Accommodation

There are no hotels just near the Zoological Museum, but Copenhagen is relatively small. You are welcome to explore hotels, hostels, Airbnb options via the web. Here I can suggest some hotel’s (each has a web page with the English version for details):

Hotel 9 Små Hjem – Classensgade 38, 2100 København Ø. This is where Zoological Museum guests often stay. It is rather near the ZM and inexpensive.
Hotel Kong Arthur – Nørre Søgade 11, 1370 København K. Seem more expensive, but maybe there are cheaper options there too, good location too.
Ibsens Hotel – Vendersgade 23, 1363 København K. Seem more expensive, but maybe there are cheaper options there too, good location too.
Ascot Hotel – Studiestræde 61, 1554 København V. Is a bit further way, very central location in town.

Visa, language and currency

Denmark is part of EU and Schengen visa agreement. English is fluently spoken here by everyone. Currency is Danish Crowns (DKK), not Euro.

Access to the collection

The collections will be open the whole Thursday 10 May and Sunday 13 May.
