We will go to the beautiful Møns Klint, which is a 6 km stretch of magnificent chalk cliffs on the island of Møn south of Copenhagen. Beech forest, meadows and patches of swampy wetlands will offer a variety of collecting habitats above the cliffs. Beneath the cliffs, we can go for a beach walk and look trough the dry open habitats on the cliffs’ slopes. For this excursion, we will drive to the GeoCenter Møns Klint by a rented bus from Copenhagen (ca. 2 hours) and walk around from there.
Full day excursion to Møns Klint. A touring bus will depart from ZMUC at 9 am. In the field we will have packed lunch on the spot, the traditional Grappa Ceremony and then a common dinner at Det Gamle Bryghus (“The Old Brew House”) in the nearby Stege town. The bus will return to ZMUC at ca 9 pm. Be prepared for chilly or rainy weather and have good hiking or rubber boots. In the unlikely case of a VERY heavy and steady rain (remember experience of 2010!), we will arrange a shelter.
