Stanley Wynter loved the sea, and his favorite was the Atlantic. It touched all the places where he would spend significant portions of his life: Guyana, Liberia, and Georgia (US). While he loved those who lived on land, he was constantly called back to the sea. Therefore, it was fitting for him to receive a captain's burial at sea. This non-traditional method of laying one to rest was a beautiful and intimate ceremony reserved for his family and close friends.

Below are just a few moments of the beautiful event of laying our Captain to rest. This took place in Hilton Head, SC, on the morning of Friday, February 7, 2025. On behalf of the Wynter family, thank you to all who attended. We also would like to send a thank you to the captain and crew of the Drifter.
