Carver Tunnell
Born and raised in Monterey County, California, Carver graduated from Carmel High School in 2021. He is currently studying Environmental Management and Protection with a focus in Indigenous Studies in Natural Resources at California Polytechnic State University.
In addition to his studies, in the 2022-2023 academic year, he was in the first ever cohort of College Corps Fellows, a California program providing opportunities for students to do community service in their fields of interest. During this time, he worked as an event planner for Community Climate Solutions, Resilient SLO, and SLO Climate Coalition. His passion for the planet and people has led Mr. Tunnell to this fulfilling and important project.
Julia White
Julia was born and raised in Ventura, California. She spent much of her time growing up exploring the coastline and many trails surrounding the area. There, she grew an appreciate for the natural environment.
She graduated from Saint Bonaventure High School in 2021 and now studies English at California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo. Alongside her studies, Julia writes for Wav Zine–a student-ran, music-based magazine–and edits for Intertidal: an ongoing journal of fellow students’ literary works. Julia’s passion for stories has led her to strongly believe in the power of narratives within education. Staging Change has given her the opportunity to bridge that gap, specifically between theater and climate science.
