Generates very high skills in sketching and idea generation including working drawings.
Now you have developed a series of high quality annotated sketches that demonstrate the development of ideas, you have then justified your design choices and related them to your statement of intent. You are ready to draw your design in Sketch Up for Schools. The purpose of a CAD model drawn in SketchUp is to test and modify your designs, you will then develop accurate working drawings in the next task (4f).
Tips for success:
Using Sketch Up for Schools, ensure you have set the template to millimeters and you save your project in your Google Drive.
Any dimension you draw in sketchup needs directly relate back to an actual size of timber you can purchase from Mathews Timber or Bunnings.
As you go through drawing your project on SketchUp you will make modifications to your design and record them by taking a screen shoot an image and inserting it with an annotation in your portfolio under the heading (Development of Ideas - Prototyping, modelling and testing). This demonstrates your skills and design knowledge of your project.
Mathews timber is rough sawn and has not been dressed all round (DAR).

Working drawings are two dimensional orthogonal projections of the project which clearly demonstrate dimensions. A high quality working drawing is used throughout the construction process of a project and is referred to for specific dimensions and joinery.

Marking feedback "has provided a detailed record of the management and production of his American Style Cabinet. It clearly shows the evolution of the project, processes used, WHS implications with a comprehensive evaluation of each stage.”
