I can't believe it, but this is my 19th year teaching science (12th in OPUSD)!

Here's a quick run down about me:

Family:

    • 1 husband

    • 1 leopard tortoise (Kuma)

Hobbies:

    • Travel

    • Photography

    • Scuba diving

    • Finding the best food and random adventures in new places

    • Obsessing over the state of the planet

Fun Facts

  • I grew up hopping around the country and have lived in 10 different places/countries.

  • I spent my junior year of college living in Israel.

  • I spent a summer living in Costa Rica (mostly at a biological research center)

  • I used to run informal education camp programs before becoming a science teacher.

  • I've traveled to 18 different countries (I think, I may have forgotten a few)

My Teaching Mission Statement

Mission Statement: My primary goal as a teacher is to educate my students by offering them a variety of lenses through which they can observe and comprehend the intricacies of the world, reflect upon them, and find a voice with which to describe and act upon their discoveries. In doing so, I strive to instill within my students a lifelong passion for learning and the self-confidence to refine their individual skills and seek further opportunities for personal growth.

I want every single one of my students to succeed!! Please do not hesitate to ask me for help, whether you need clarification on a concept, study and organization skills, or just need someone to listen. I am here for you!
