Becoming Natasha was a collaborative production inspired by Victor Malarek's book about the global sex trade, The Natashas. It follows the stories of 6 trafficked women and narrates their capacity to survive at any cost. The play was the result of months of research and script development, working the UN, to the NY DA, V-Day Human Rights Watch, Safe Horizons, Vital Voices, Polaris Project, and CUNY's Center for Gay and Lesbian Studies.
Becoming Natasha was presented at The Culture Project, NYC, HERE Performance Space, NYC, The Artists of Tomorrow Festival, The American Theatre Company in Chicago, George Washington University, and the University of Toronto.
We were a part of Amnesty International's Firefly Project panel No One Signs Up to Become a Slave, which included panelists Josh Fox (Gasland), Ron Russell (Epic Theater), Jessica Blank and Eric Jensen (The Exonerated),
