“But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria and to the end of the earth.” Acts of the Apostles 1:8
Baptism, Eucharist, and Confirmation together constitute the “sacraments of Christian initiation,” whose unity must be safeguarded. The faithful must understand that the reception of the sacrament of Confirmation is necessary for the completion of baptismal grace. For “by the means of Confirmation, (the baptized) are more perfectly bound to the Church and are enriched with a special strength of the Holy Spirit. Hence they are, as true witnesses of Christ, more strictly obliged to spread and defend the faith by word and deed.” (Catechism of the Catholic Church, 1285)
Teens preparing for Confirmation must demonstrate a readiness and complete at least one year of Youth Discipleship. For more information, please Faith Formation Team, David Benevidez or Deacon Roy.
