St Peter's Helpers
A response to the Covid 19 emergency from St Peter's Parishioners, Hazel Grove
St Peter's Helpers (all volunteers) now provide the following services to parishioners and other people in our Parish area of Hazel Grove:
Short term 'emergency' shopping and errands (we ask you first try to arrange these through family and friends).
HOW TO PLACE A REQUEST FOR AN EMERGENCY SHOP / ERRAND
You can email us on firstname.lastname@example.org.
We will aim to respond within 24 hours.
If you need someone more urgently, or do not have email, call the church office on
0161 483 3476.
Our short term, essential shopping / errands service is for those who find themselves suddenly unable to get to the shops, due to sudden illness or the need to isolate. NOBODY WILL BE LEFT WITHOUT HELP IF THEY NEED IT!
St Peter's Helpers also offers:
Friendly phone calls
Request a friendly phone call from one of our volunteers, or offer to phone others, especially those who are more isolated.
Occasional cards, deliveries of Shine magazine to your house, plus other 'goodies' from time to time!
Would you like to go on our list for deliveries? Our aim is to reach out to those people who aren't able to get out and about very much.
See our PROJECT page
Help others by making things, knitting, creating, writing - we normally have a project on the go! Help others and have some fun at the same time.
Friendship and social contact
St Peter's has many groups, some purely social others with a prayerful focus. You would be VERY WELCOME to get involved! These include (amongst many others)
'Virtual' teas and coffees, book club, bereavement group, children and young people's groups, Alpha course, Marriage course and many others.

WHO ARE ST PETER'S HELPERS?
Hello. We are St Peter's Helpers, a group of parishioners from St Peter's Catholic Church, Hazel Grove, who want to join up support to everyone who needs it, particularly those who are self-isolating, at risk or just concerned. We were set up in March 2020 to provide support to people through the Covid 19 lockdown. We are now providing a smaller, emergency only, Covid practical support team and a larger team of Friends to help with friendship, social contact and support.
Our mission is to:
Offer emergency practical support to those in need during the Covid pandemic.
Offer friendship, a welcoming community and support to all who need it in our community.
Offer signposting to other organisations to help with specific needs.
To reduce isolation and enable everyone to contribute their talents and gifts.
We are part of the community of St Peter's Catholic Church, Hazel Grove.
