We did it!! The Pantry is now a Community Shop. We have registered as a Community Benefits Society (Financial Conduct Authority No. 8519 / Companies House No. RS008519) and the shop is now run by a Community Committee.
The Committee appointed a Shop Manager, Linda Baggott, who successfully opened the doors to the Community on Monday 4th January 2021. Linda is supported by Adele James and a team of volunteers.
Opening hours
We are currently open as follows:
Monday - Friday 9am - 5pm
We are hoping to open on Saturdays ASAP - watch this space for updates.
If you have any questions or comments you can speak to Linda or Adele in the shop, call them on 01594 530 740 or email Linda or the Committee at stbvcommunityshop@gmail.com
Ordering Service
We are operating in very challenging timse with Lockdown and Covid restrictions. We aim to support all of you as best we can, and hope you can help us to do this.
We have an ordering service in place to ease the process and to minimise time spent in the shop and potential contact/risk.
Please send your orders in to the shop by hand or, preferably, by email to stbvcommunityshop@gmail.com.
We hope shortly to have a list of our current products on this website and on our Facebook page, which will make ordering a lot easier.
We are only accepting cash in exceptional circumstances, payments to be made by card please. For those isolating we are able to offer a delivery and payment (same day) via online banking - plesae be in touch with your needs and we will do our best to meet them.
Thank You
A big thank you to John and Diana for ensuring a smooth handover and for the support of our landlady, Deborah Flint. For the first month or two, we intend to retain virtually the same lines of stock and prices as previously, before introducing some of the ideas many of you suggested in the questionnaire. However, please let Linda or Adele know if there are any particular items you would like us to introduce fairly quickly.
Thank you also to all our loyal customers for continuing to use the shop in these difficult times. Your support will ensure that the community shop will thrive.
Membership
We are now launching a membership scheme - look out for details coming through your door and on this website here.
We look forward to the next chapter for the shop and for your continued support and involvement.
As the shop is operating with a minimum of paid staff, we are very dependent on having a team of willing volunteers to help in the shop, collect supplies from wholesalers, move milk crates in the mornings, or deliver food orders to those who cannot leave their homes.
If you have a few hours a week that you could spare and would like to join our great team, please drop our volunteer coordinator, Piers Cardiff, a line on piers.cardiff@gmail.com.
