WOMEN’S BRUNCH INVITATION – We are glad to have a morning to gather with our own Estelle Shanley, who will be sharing some of her life stories growing up in Ireland, and of her career as a "female" journalist in the Boston area for many years. She has many entertaining things to tell! Come for a breakfast brunch on Saturday, Sept. 27th at 9:00 a.m. in our Fellowship Hall. Dawn Gummer will cook and Pastor Julie will M.C. the event.
IN MEMORIUM – We have learned that one of our members, Dick McGill, passed away this week at age 100. He had a long and blessed life. He and his wife Mimi attended St. Andrew for several years until the pandemic hit. Mimi is homebound now in La Quinta but still follows along with our bulletins. Our prayers go out to the family at this time of loss.
CHANCEL CHOIR – Begins this month! Regular rehearsals will be at 4:15 p.m., and Bell choir will also rehearse at 5:30 p.m. All are welcome!
UPCOMING ADULT C.E. CLASS – This Sunday, Sept. 21st, after worship, join us for a video class on the book, “Why: Making Sense of God’s Will” by well-known UMC pastor and author Rev. Adam Hamilton. Each week we’ll discuss topics including, Why do the innocent suffer? Why do my prayers go unanswered? Why can’t I see God’s will for my life? Why God’s love prevails. Lead by a team from the CE Committee.
USO DONATIONS - We will be collection grab and go snack items and travel size toiletries for the Palm Springs USO. Please see this FLYER for me details.
NEW ZELLE DONATION OPTION - At their recent meeting, your Session Members approved the use of receiving donations through ZELLE. This is an instant bank to bank transfer of money initiated by you. There are no fees associated with this type of donation. If you chose to give through ZELLE, please do so using our finance email address: standrewfinance1@gmail.com. You are still welcome to make donations by check, cash, or through our online VANCO platform. Please know that VANCO takes 2% of every donation. INVESTMENT COMMITTEE NEEDS – Did you know that St. Andrew Community Presbyterian Church has an Investment Sub-Committee? They communicate through email and phone calls two to three times a year to discuss the church's investments and current interest rates. If you have investment experience and would like to add your knowledge to our sub-committee, please call the office to let us know your interest in joining this important investment sub-committee.
NEW GLORY TO GOD HYMNALS – With two generous gifts, we have purchased new hymnals. We will use both hymnals each week for our singing support.
DID YOU KNOW WE HAVE ASSISTED LISTENING DEVICES? – Assisted listening devices are available to help in Worship. Joe Hamner has them at the back table if you would like to use a set.
