School of Saints Philip and James (SSPJ) is a private non-profit, non-stock, non-sectarian school founded on 23 January 2001. SSPJ is the first private school in Peñablanca, Cagayan that offers Pre-Elementary, Elementary, and Secondary levels of education. It is open for both boys and girls.
The school adapts the teachings of the Catechism of the Catholic Church (CCC) and the Catechism for Filipino Catholics (CFC) for religion subject. However, the school respects the Spiritual Freedom of each student. Therefore, Non-Catholics are also accepted in the school.
The Curriculum offered in the school conforms to the standard requirement set by the Department of Education of the Republic of the Philippines. The school is registered and monitored by the Department of Education.
The School of Saints Philip and James; being aware of her role as an educational institution, aims to educate her students by supplying a variety of learning experiences in order to establish a healthy relationship of an individual to himself, to his fellowmen, to his environment, and to his Ultimate Creator.
The School of Saints Philip and James exists to provide quality Christian Education and dedicates herself to the total human development of an individual through its curricular and co-curricular activities.
In order for an educational program to be academically sound and instruction all effective, it must be founded upon Christian educational principles that recognize the true nature of GOD, of TRUTH, of KNOWLEDGE, and of MAN. Implicit in Christian Education are the following philosophy:
Man does possess a spiritual dimension (Genesis 1:26-27)
Education involves the total being – SPIRITUAL, MORAL, INTELLECTUAL, PHYSICAL, AND SOCIAL (Proverbs 9:9)
Man is unique and a social being. He needs others in order to live (Romans 12:3-8)
The School of Saints Philip and James upholds and pursue the national and global educational development agenda through building an effective learning environment and experiences, ensuring universal and inclusive Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD) and Basic Education, and advancement of Quality Education anchored with current trends of education.
While providing an access to data and information of school, and its students and personnel, the SSPJ management shall afford full observance to Data Privacy Act of 2012 (R.A. 10173), as follows:
It shall ensure that the data of its students and personnel are disclosed or released only if it is relevant to the subject matter of request and its disclosure is permissible under existing laws, rules, or regulations.
Any school personnel who has access, authorized or unauthorized, to personal information in the custody of the school must not disclose information except when authorized.
Any entity or person may request an access to schools’ data through submitting a written letter describing the data requested and the purpose or reason of the request. The letter should also contain the name and contact information of the requesting party. Individual person who are requesting data shall provide proof of his/her identification.
The school management shall respond to the request as soon as feasible but not exceeding fifteen (15) working days from receiving the request letter. The response can be extended when data requested requires extensive search or other analogous cases.
The school board or its duly representative, such as school administrator/principal shall decide for the approval or denial of the request and observe the following actions prior for decision:
In case the data requested contains personal information, determine the appropriate measures to balance the requester’s interest in disclosure and the duty to protect the privacy of the individual concerned.
Determine whether to grant or deny the request based on the law, facts, and circumstances.
