We'd like your feedback on the 3 Apples Award Categories.
These three awards have been developed to encourage the joy of reading for pleasure and to give the children and teens in New York State the opportunity to participate in honoring their favorite books. It is sponsored by the School Library Media Section of the New York Library Association, which represents the school libraries of the state.

Timetable of Events
September and October
Students should use the paper or online forms to nominate their favorite books.
Deadline to submit nominations is October 30.
November – March
List of finalists will be posted on the website in November.
READ! READ!! READ!!!
Visit your local public or school library between November and March to borrow the books on the list.
Each child or teen must read or listen to a minimum of three books from the list of 15 finalists in order to vote in April.
April
Voting will take place in public and school libraries throughout New York State.
Ballots will be made available at school and public libraries.
Only children and teens in grades PK-12 who have read or listened to at least 3 of the nominated titles are eligible to vote.
Each eligible child has one vote, cast at either their school or public library.
Librarians will tally the votes from their library and submit them online by April 30th.
May
The award winner will be announced on the website.
Libraries across the state will sponsor events to celebrate the winner of the 3 Apples Book Award.
June – August
Libraries will promote the award during their summer reading programs and encourage children and teens to read in preparation for nominations in September.
