Unified Command Hosts Open Houses

February 13 and 21, 2020

ST. SIMONS, Ga. – The St. Simons Sound Incident Response Unified Command hosted an Open House at the Brunswick-Glynn County Library on June 13th, and A.W. Jones Heritage Center on June 21st to give the community an opportunity to speak with subject matter experts about plans for wreck removal, construction of environmental protection barrier, pile-driving, mitigation of environmental impacts, as well as community and safety related topics

Community members and mariners were invited to speak with subject matter experts about plans for wreck removal, construction of the environmental protection barrier, pile-driving, mitigation of environmental impacts, as well as community and safety related topics.

The public was invited to attend during the two-hour period of the open house.


Visitors were invited to review materials and imagery provided at various display booths, as well as to speak with subject matter experts on wreck removal, project milestones, construction of the environmental protection barrier, Georgia Department of Natural Resources, community impacts and safety concerns.
