There are two main program types through which students can transfer from a 2-year college to a 4-year university. Click below to learn more about them both.
Guaranteed Admissions programs are partnership programs between the NC Community College System and some North Carolina public universities.
Students who apply and are accepted to these programs will spend 2 years at a community college and then are guaranteed transfer to a 4-year NC public university, provided that they maintain certain academic requirements and successfully complete an Associate in Arts or Associate in Science degree.
To be considered for Guaranteed Admissions programs, students MUST APPLY DURING THEIR SENIOR YEAR.

Traditional transfer programs do not require a student to apply to those programs during senior year. Instead, a student would apply to community college at their convenience, and once they have entered their second year of community college, they would apply to transfer to the 4-year university of their choice.
