Student responsibilities:
Attend weekly lesson with instrument and music
Complete the "reps" for their assigned materials
Treat their instrument with care and respect
Maintain a positive attitude
Parent Responsibilities:
You can help even if you don't play an instrument!
Provide an instrument in good working order
Be encouraging and supportive
Assist student in establishing a practice routine
Support student attending weekly lesson
Music Teacher Responsibilities:
Teach students proper ways to handle and care for their instrument
Teach students the proper techniques for playing their instrument
Encourage students to persist through the difficulties they may encounter on their instrument
Communicate with parents and students about events, expectations, and procedures
Disseminate assignments using binders, SeeSaw and/or email
Provide weekly instruction
30 minute group lesson per week, group sizes can range from 3-15 students.
Rotating or set lesson time during the school day, depending on classroom teacher preference
Band and Orchestra students will have full ensemble rehearsals in addition to their lesson time to prepare for the spring concert.
Larger instruments: cello, bass, trombone, baritone and percussion kits are not allowed on the bus.
This is to keep students and instruments safe.

schools are open early and open later in the afternoon, we can coordinate with the after school programs

Please reach out to your teacher if you have any questions or concerns. Low strings and low brass are instruments that we usually need to balance the ensembles. If one of these is your child's first choice, we'll try to help make it work!
