About Library

The library of SSA Govt. College of Arts and Commerce in Virnoda, Pernem-Goa was established in 1993 alongside the college itself. Initially housed within the college premises, it has now relocated to a modern building adjacent to NH-17 in Virnoda, covering an area of 2359 square meters. This new facility is equipped with a comprehensive collection of Indian and international books and journals, spanning various disciplines such as Management, Commerce, Social Sciences, Languages, and Computer Studies, catering to the diverse needs of students, faculty, and research scholars.

The library continuously updates its collection with the latest publications to ensure that students remain informed about contemporary issues. Additionally, it provides wifi connectivity to facilitate easy access to digital resources. The library is also computerized, utilizing e-granthalaya Library Automation Software, which includes an Online Public Access Catalog (OPAC) feature for efficient navigation and retrieval of resources.


Presently, the library caters to approximately 750 students, 100 faculty members, and 10 research scholars, in addition to former students and local residents. With a seating capacity of 250 individuals at any given time, it offers ample space for study and research. The library also features separate areas designated for faculty members and research scholars, as well as a conference and meeting room for collaborative activities.

Furthermore, the library boasts an e-library section furnished with 10 computers, providing students access to electronic resources and internet browsing facilities. This enhances the range of resources available to patrons, facilitating their academic pursuits and information retrieval needs.
