Teacher's Day 2024
Teacher's Day 2025
Before joining the Department of English at Maharaja Krishnakumarsinhji Bhavnagar University, my experience of celebrating Teacher’s Day was quite traditional. We used to wear sarees, attend classes, and take on the role of teachers by teaching students in a classroom setting. It was an enjoyable and respectful way of understanding the role of a teacher, but it mainly focused on physical presence and conventional methods of celebration.
However, after becoming a postgraduate student, I was introduced to a completely new and innovative way of celebrating Teacher’s Day. In our department, the celebration is conducted virtually, where we are required to prepare a presentation on a selected topic and record it as a lecture. This recorded lecture is then uploaded on YouTube as well as on Ed.TED. Additionally, we create a quiz based on our lecture using tools like Google Forms and attach it in the video description to engage viewers.
Along with this, we also learn to generate certificates for participants, making the entire process more professional and interactive. This experience was very enriching, as it helped me develop technical skills, presentation abilities, and a deeper understanding of digital teaching methods.
A particularly rewarding aspect of this experience was that my video received the highest number of views in my class, reaching around 1900 views. This recognition boosted my confidence and motivated me to continue improving my skills. Overall, this activity not only enhanced my academic learning but also gave me a sense of achievement and appreciation for innovative teaching practices.
