Many of our coaches have been told by the refs that only one coach is allowed to stand and speak. I could not find clarification of this rule in the CYO handbook. Here is clarification from CYO:

They are allowed to stand to verify information with the second referee (or score table in our case) during a dead ball, greet a replaced player, team time-outs, “Spontaneously react to an outstanding play by a player(s) of their own team”, attend to an injured player.
It does not say an assistant coach cannot speak, but there are a list of unsporting actions which includes disrespectful words.
EQUIPMENT & UNIFORMS
Kneepads must be worn by all player. Jewelry, face paint, or hair clips may not be worn during the match.
8th and 7th grades: regulation leather ball
6th, 5th, 4th, and 3rd grades: Volley-lite ball.
Teams should bring their own warm-up balls
