Scouts Mission Statement
The mission of Scouting America is to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law.Â
On my honor I will do my best
To do my duty to God and my country
and to obey the scout law;
To help other people at all times;
To keep myself physically strong,
mentally awake, and morally straight.
A Scout is
trustworthy, loyal, helpful,
friendly, courteous, kind,
obedient, cheerful, thrifty,
brave, clean, and reverent.
Age/Grade Requirements
A youth can join Scouting America (Formerly Scouts BSA) as long as at least one or more of the following criteria is met:
1.) The youth has to be at least 10 years old, currently in the Fifth Grade and registered on or after March 1st.
2.) The youth has to be at least 10 years old and have earned their Arrow of Light Award in Cub Scouts.
3.) The youth has to be at least 11 years old and have not reached age 18 yet.
Our Scouts meet every Wednesday evening at 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the St. Rita School Gym unless otherwise noted by the Troop's Scoutmaster, or Committee Member.
During these meeting's, the Scouts work on skills that go towards their next ranks/merit badges, along with developing Independence, working as a Team, and building Friendships
