SNA is excited to launch a new peer mentorship event each semester: the RN New Grad Panel!
Our mission is to strengthen peer connections and help bridge the transition from nursing school to professional practice. This special event will feature recent SRJC RN graduates who have secured positions in RN Residency programs throughout Sonoma County.
We aim to represent a variety of specialties and welcome your suggestions to ensure a well-rounded panel. Several of our alumni are currently thriving in New Grad programs and are eager to share their insights, experiences, and tips to help guide your journey.
We’re thrilled to invite you to our very first RN New Grad Panel Event! This special event will feature recently graduated SRJC RNs who have secured positions across Sonoma County - including L&D at Sutter and Memorial, PVH Med-Surg, Psych, and Community Health Nursing. The Story:
Chris Latorre and Courtney Pedersen, Spring '25 graduates, began exploring peer mentorship through their Epsilon Phi Honors Society capstone project, focusing on the impact and effectiveness of mentorship in nursing programs.
Their goal after graduation is to continue building connections between current SRJC nursing students and RN Residents working in hospitals throughout the region. By fostering a strong sense of community and mentorship within the nursing field, they hope to support students, answer their questions, and help meet the growing need for guidance during this critical transition into practice.
