Instructions to sign-up for a VLACS Course
If you’d like to see the course offerings, go to the “Course Catalog” under the “Students” tab on the homepage. You’ll want to click the “High School” tab, and look under subject of interest.
To create an account click on ‘Login’ on the top right-hand of the page.
Click on ‘Register a New Account’ and fill out your profile.
Once in your student account, click on the "Request Courses" link in the left hand column. Follow the instructions to choose the course you are taking.
Most of the courses offered are divided into 2 “segments.” Students who need a full credit should sign up for both segments (designed to take up to 32-36 weeks); students who need only a half-credit should sign up for only 1 segment (designed for 16-20 weeks).
Make sure to specify whether you are taking the course at the “Honors” level or “Regular” level.
An email will be sent to your parent/guardian requesting their approval for the course the student has signed up for. Once a parent/guardian approves, the student will be officially assigned to the course.
You will receive a welcome email from your instructor within 14 days, given that space is available. The email will also prompt you to schedule a “Welcome Phone Call.” Be sure to schedule a “Welcome Phone Call” with your instructor as this is required to start a VLACS course.
Be sure you & a parent/guardian are home when you are scheduled to have the “Welcome Phone Call.” Set an alarm, leave yourself lots of post-it notes for reminders, don’t forget! This is required for you to start the course.
After that, you can work on your class from any computer, you just have to log in to your VLACS account online. This means that the course could take you shorter or longer than their estimated time, depending on how many hours you devote to it.
When you finish let your SRHS school counselor know and order a transcript to be sent directly to Sanborn.
