A Message from the School Counseling Team:
By this time you all know that you will be working with your teachers for the next few weeks remotely in a "virtual classroom." The School Counseling Team wanted to reach out and let you know that we will also be available in a similar manner.
With the exception of time spent helping to deliver school lunches, counselors will be available remotely Monday-Friday during school hours through email, Google Chat or we can even schedule a time to video chat through Google Meet / Hangout / Zoom. We know that for some of you this may be a difficult time with lots of questions or some anxiety around what is going on, or some of you may be used to checking in regularly for support. We want to make sure that we are still available for you during this time.
Additionally, your counselor may be reaching out to you for a variety of different reasons such as junior college labs, junior/senior check-ins, weekly 504/IEP check-ins, and anything else that may come up.
Please keep your eye out for emails from your counselor and if you need some support do not hesitate to reach out! If you need support outside of school hours, we have included a list of resources (including self-care tips and local resources) that you can access at anytime.

A Message from Heidi Leavitt, Counseling Director
The SRHS School Counseling program is an essential part of the educational process for students. This program is designed to meet students’ needs by helping them define and meet expectations in all facets of their lives – academic, social, emotional, and career and post-secondary planning.
Each student will be assigned to a counselor upon entrance to Sanborn Regional High School. Student Counseling activities are conducted on a regular and planned basis with the goal of providing students with experiences to help them grow and to reach their full potential. Counselors provide direct services to students, as well as working with parents, school staff, and members of the community.
Unless otherwise instructed in writing by a parent or guardian, services provided through the School Counseling Office will be provided to all students through self-referral, staff referral, and/or parent referral.

Here is a link to a list of resources the New Hampshire Higher Education Assistance Foundation (NHHEAF) has released to help students and parents while remote learning. This includes information on financial aid, scholarships, applying to college, and more. Any presentations NHHEAF would have made at the school this year are provided as pre-recorded webinars as well. Seniors, if you were planning on attending our Paying for College night that was scheduled for 3/26, you can find a pre-recorded webinar of the presentation under "Current 12th Grade Students." It is the 4th link down on the drop box.
Check out The Varsity Letter, NHHEAF's newsletter, for tips on remote learning, financial aid, and the college process for juniors and seniors.
Please reach out to your child's counselor if your family is in need of support, food, or anything else during this time. We will get through it together!
