AI-Ethics in Project Management: A Scenario Based e-Learning Module
I designed this interactive e-learning module to move beyond passive theory. Using scenario-based learning and branching logic, the course places the learner in high-stakes project environments where they must make real-time decisions

As AI tools become integrated into project management workflows, many professionals utilize automated decision-making without a clear framework for accountability. This created a significant performance gap: project managers understood the technical "how" of AI tools but lacked a standardized approach to the "why" and "when" regarding ethical risks like algorithmic bias and data privacy.
I transformed a complex governance whitepaper into a gamified, decision-based narrative. Using scenario-based learning and branching logic, the course places the learner in high-stakes environments where they must apply the FTA Framework (Fairness, Transparency, and Accountability) to navigate real-world ethical dilemmas.
Content Transformation & Storyboarding
I framed the scenario around a Project Manager overseeing AI integration, ensuring every ethical choice was grounded in realistic corporate risks. I designed "Situational Judgment Tests" where incorrect choices lead to tangible consequences, such as financial penalties or reputational damage.
Technical Development (Articulate Storyline 360)
Once the logic was mapped, I focused on high-end technical features in Storyline 360:
Dynamic Personalization: Used Text Variables to capture and reference the learner’s name throughout the UI and Text-to-Speech (TTS) engine to increase immersion.
State-Based Navigation: Implemented Object States and Conditional Triggers to "gate" progress, ensuring learners interact with all seven "Action Plan" pillars before completion.
Web Deployment: Successfully published the course for HTML5 and managed the deployment via Netlify.
In this project, I served as the Subject Matter Expert, leveraging my deep research into AI ethics and corporate governance frameworks. I developed an action map focused on a measurable project goal: ensuring Project Managers successfully apply the FTA Framework to mitigate corporate risk. This mapping ensured that every branch of the module, right from identifying algorithmic bias to maintaining human oversight; was tied directly to high-stakes, real-world behaviors rather than passive information.
I identified key performance actions for managers that became more specific as they branched out into "Situational Judgment Tests". By grounding the design in this map, I ensured that every interaction in Articulate Storyline 360; such as the Decision Decoder or the Ethics Scorecard, served a specific purpose in achieving the overarching project goal. This systematic approach allowed me to strip away "nice-to-know" content and focus entirely on the actions that reduce financial and reputational liability for the organization
Once the action map was finalised and approved, I transitioned into creating a comprehensive text-based storyboard. This document served as the functional blueprint for the entire project, meticulously mapping out the instructional flow before I started building the course on Articulate Storyline 360.
I framed the narrative around a high-stakes corporate environment to ensure the scenario felt realistic and urgent. The storyboard detailed the following key elements:
Narrative Pathing: I scripted branching scenarios where the learner’s choices directly impact the project's outcome, leading to either a successful deployment or a "Critical Failure" involving financial penalties.
Instructional Prompts: I carefully crafted question prompts and "distractors" (incorrect choices) based on the FTA Framework to challenge the learner’s decision-making regarding AI bias and transparency.
Feedback Loops: I drafted specific "Correct" and "Incorrect" feedback layers, ensuring that even a wrong choice provided a "learning moment" by explaining the ethical or legal reasoning behind the consequence.
Technical Specifications: I pre-planned the technical logic, such as where Text Variables would be used to personalise the experience and how Number Variables would track the dynamic Ethics Scorecard.
By finalising the script and logic in this text-based format, I was able to verify the instructional integrity of the course and ensure a seamless transition into the visual design and development phases.
