As a quick one day adventure me and my family flew to Paducah, Kentucky for a fun adventure. We arrived at the airport in Paducah which is a small lovely airport with less rush and traffic. We got our rental car and headed toward our first stop the Kentucky Dam is a reservoir for the Tennessee River. This place was a very educational and fun visit. If you look at the rocks you can see a natural marking where some of the rocks are red because the water rose that high! This place also has a great view so children can see how a dam functions. I would recommend visiting this place in late spring or early summer.
After visiting the dam we headed toward Paducah to spend the rest of the day. After we arrived in Paducah we spent the time before lunch walking around. We ate lunch in a restaurant/ bakery called Kirchhoff's Bakery. This bakery is amazing its food, decor everything about is so nice. The sandwiches are like something I never had before this place is a local's favorite and I can see why. This restaurant is a must visit.
Another place which I thought was a must visit was the quilt museum, but before I tell you about my fabulous visit here you will have to here about my riverside walk. The riverside walk isn't just walking beside a river the riverside walk is actually beside a wall this wall tells about stories that happened in Paducah. Now the quilt museum was very surprising you could easily mistake these quilts for paintings that's how good they are. Filled with colors and beautiful skills. Since I visited in March for the month March they put a special exhibit called "Her Story" some people designed quilts and wrote about a women who inspired them.
Before we went back to the airport we arrived at a house that was converted into a visitor center called White Haven. This house has a incredible history you should definitely check this out. Paduch is a great place to go and is a perfect weekend getaway!
