2023-2024 Summer Letter to Parents

Dear Parents / Guardians,

I hope you are enjoying the start of your summer and finding ways to relax. Following is information that will help us all begin a prosperous 2023-2024 school year. We learned a lot during the school year.  We are proud of our many great accomplishments including growing 143% in Reading and 125% in Mathematics this year.  We are already making plans on how we can continue to improve our academic rigor in the upcoming school year.  We greatly appreciate your ongoing support as we prepare to open St. Pius V School for its 152nd year. 

We ask that everyone come to the school office before classes begin to take care of final paperwork (missing or unfinished forms, extended day program registration, and submit health exam forms), make registration fee and/or materials fee payments, make past due payments and/or current full tuition payments. Monthly tuition payments are to be sent directly to FACTS Management.

Summer registration days will be from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 8th and Wednesday, August 9th. 

Please call (312) 226-1590 or email admin@saintpiusv.org if you are able to help with preparing for registration and/or during registration or to help set up a classroom. Your time will count as service hours.

Parent Portal

We have an online parent portal that can be accessed through our website at: https://sites.google.com/view/spvparentportal to help access information, files, and documents that you will need to access before the beginning of the school year. The portal includes information about the following:

• School calendar and important dates

• Supply lists

• Uniform information

• Extended Day

• Medical documents/forms

• Sports information/documents

• FACTS/Financial 

Health and Medical Forms

We encourage all students to receive a physical exam.  There is a box on the medical form for doctors to indicate that your child is able to participate in extracurricular athletics.

There are specific medical forms and  requirements for students entering K, 2nd, and 6th grade and any students new to St. Pius.  If you have any questions regarding medical forms please contact the school office.

Dennis Uniform 

The St. Pius V School uniform can be purchased at Dennis Uniform.  Please visit Dennisuniform.com and use the school code: GSPVS to see the items for the grade levels.  Please note that the khaki pants do not need to be purchased at Dennis, however they do need to match the cut and style (please see the parent portal for more information about uniform guidelines).

The 2023-2024 school year will begin on  Monday, August 21st at 8:00 a.m. Daily attendance is required. Students that arrive after 8:10 am will be marked tardy. Breakfast is available at 8:00 a.m. in the classrooms.  

Some of you are beginning your educational careers at St. Pius V School this fall and we want to make you and your child feel as comfortable as possible. Please do not hesitate to call, email or ask anyone for help or additional information. 

It will be delightful to welcome you and your children to a new school year. We feel privileged to participate with you in the education of your child.
