This photo is an actual picture of the original school building completed in the late 1920s. An earthquake in the early 1930s forced the school leaders to take down the beautiful rooftop facade that gave it the look of the "Alamo."

This is one of the oldest pictures of the little school we have found, probably around 1920. This was taken from the northern hill behind the school looking southeast toward the river on the valley floor. Look closely and you can see the Indian cemetery on the left side of the picture.
