🌟 Alan Shearer said he expects Heung Min Son to benefit now that Harry Kane is gone. 🌟
☀️ I had said we could see a new sun under Ange. ☀️
🤝 But it may not be fair to say a new Son, because I have always acknowledged Sonny and Kane as our twin pillars on which the team relied as its main support. 🤝
⚽ Like the game at Liverpool two years ago when both scored from similar passes from midfield and we took two draws from Liverpool that year, and perhaps cost them the title. ⚽🔥
🤔 But more often than not Sonny has been the primary bulwark of our attack when Kane is unavailable, and he almost automatically reverts to a best supporting actor role when he returns, which may or may not have been in the team's overall interests, in my view. 🤔
🚀 And now, in that strike position upfront, he can get to do what he has done so often, but so much more often. 🚀
🎯 And with Maddison, but not only, feeding Kane-esque passes to him, I expect that even with his slow start Sonny may very well have a bumper return this year. 🎯👏
⚽ But more importantly, the service coming in from the left with Solomon, from Maddison, and even from Porro, was and is pretty phenomenal. Not miraculous, but it's rare I have seen that striker position so well fed. ⚽🍽️
💪 And if what we all believe about young Brennan Johnson is correct, I say he puts Kulusevski on the bench and we're looking for even more support and assists from that area to that pinnacle position Sonny is now residing in. 💪🔥
🙌 But what looks really good to me is that almost anybody can drop into that position and reap major dividends. 🙌💰
⏱️ What Richarlison can glean from timing his runs as Sonny does can more than convert into actual goals for him. But also a lot of them. ⏱️⚽
🙌 And literally almost anyone on the team could now play that position and reap the benefits. 🙌
🙃 THAT'S what got me so excited. Not just the 2-5 win. Honestly, it's still Burnley. It's what we should be doing. Not losing there on last-ditch goals, which is what prompted Conte to say, "maybe I'm not so good." One of my favorite quotes from him, and also...maybe so manifestly true. 🙃
🔄 Because what we see from Big Ange is really different from the football we've seen from our last three managers, and I believe, although it's early years yet, a major upgrade on the Pochettino years. 🔄🔝
🌟 Because both will work with youth. And I really admire and desire that. 🌟
🏉 I remember when I was watching a rugger match many years ago, and saw a senior team picking apart a team of youngsters for the first half. 🏉
🐶 I was rooting for the youngsters because I'm a root for the underdog kind of guy. 🐶
🏆 But late in the game, the kids just ran rings around the old boys. It was no contest in the end, although in the beginning, it looked like a blowout in the opposite direction. 🏆🌟
🤞 And whereas our team isn't completely stocked with teenagers, I wouldn't be surprised if we get that effect against some teams ahead of us in the pecking order this year. 🤞
⚙️ And for that, I also expect that Sonny will be rotated regularly. I have been saying this about Kane and Son for years that rotation was the best way to not only preserve them but maximize their output. ⚙️🔄
🚀 And throw young Johnson into that mix is like throwing gasoline onto already blazing wood in my view. Between him and Richarlison and Sonny, it could be really nice. Really nice. Except I repeat myself. 🚀🌟
💰 But after being left to feel a bit light in the transfer window. Everyone speculates that we would have liked another center forward/center-back/central midfielder, etc., What I am especially happy about is to see Ash Phillips being almost immediately promoted to first-team duties, AS WELL AS another young academy star, Dorrington or something. As covers in the center-back role. 💰🌟
📈 And I expect there to be a knock-on effect throughout the academy. I wouldn't exactly lay this at big Ange's feet, but our under 21's are lighting it up right now. 📈💥
🌟 What the environment of promoting young Phillips, even though that was clearly the plan, and the other young star does, is increase the levels of realistic ambition amongst the younger ranks. 🌟
💰 And hopefully, we'll be popping out our own Foden's and Greenwoods every year. 💰🌟
🌴 And besides that just being great for the club overall, that would be a literal windfall for Levy's pockets, and hopefully what will trickle down on everybody including us fans won't be just miserable crap, one way or another. 🌴👥
💪 On a final but not last note...Sonny is up there at 31. He's by no means done. But that's because of his above-average talent but moreso his discipline. 💪🎯
⚓ He can now shine as both captain and point man in a way he has never done before. ⚓🌟
🤞 But we all believed that perhaps, one day our King Kane will be back. Much like how Pochettino thought one day he would be back. 🤞👑
🏆 I was putting a return date at the shortest after two years for Kane..By then he will either have a trophy or trophies under his belt and decide whether or not the all-time leading goal scorer in the English Premier League is enough for him to return, along with a perhaps sizeable pay cut. 🏆💰
🔄 And just as it never happened for Poch, and now most likely never will, what I see is that with Ange Postecoglou's emphasis on youth, it's quite likely that if he returns it won't be to N17. Even though it was Postecoglou who made a somewhat cryptic assertion to his belief that Kane will be back. 🤔🔄
👴 One of our former players Sandro, has hung up his boots at 34. That may not be exactly average for players to retire right now, but pretty darn close. 👴⚽
🌴 We see a quite young Frank Kessie, Koulibaly, and Neymar have all gone to the greener pastures of the Saudi League. The former two very much in their prime, Neymar not far from it. 🌴💰
🌴 The Saudis are the new frontier for big bucks in professional football. And Ronaldo has helped to not only raise the league's legitimacy and profile but also opened the floodgates for top-class players to view it as a desired destination, with beaucoup bucks on offer. 💰🌍
💷 Sonny turned down an offer that would have given him perhaps One Million pounds per week. 💷
🎯 And that's more loyalty than anything else from Sonny, although I'm sure the old bulldog Levy would have an even harder time letting that bone from between his teeth. 🐶
👴 That being said, at 31 now, and I say with the years and wear showing, I would love to see Sonny smashing all of his prior records. Maybe we won't see another Pushkas award-winning goal, or one of that type. But in this system 30+ goals from Sonny is no far-flung concept. 🚀⚽
🌟 And why not see him break all records himself?, and then hopefully ride off into the sunset in the desert with his own bumper contract to show for it? 🌅
🌟 That would be jjjuuussttt Gggrreeaatt! 🌟
👑 Yeah, after the saga of King Kane, now it's time for the final chapters...
🌅 Of the EVER RISING SON!!! 🌅
