More importantly, so much to say about this football club I love. For myself and no one else. It's really one of my favorite distractions. โฝโค๏ธ๐ฅ Very very well done. ๐๐ A five-goal smorgasbord will win us every game. โฝโฝโฝโฝโฝ And any naysayers who say we can't win the League, really just don't know. ๐๐ โโ๏ธ
This is better team than that which beat Manchester City home and away two years ago, and once last season, and seriously stretched them at home. Nuff said. ๐ช๐ And also, a manifestly more suited manager. ๐๐ผ The qualifiers are, of course, it was newly promoted Burnley. But Burnley are no newcomers to the Premier League. They also took the championship by storm in a manner not seen in many years. โฝ๐๐ช๏ธ
We are also quite vulnerable at the back. A likely side effect of such a high press. I liked to see Udogie making a recovery way up almost in line with the opposing 18. ๐โโ๏ธโฝ But how he plays that far forward and sometimes his penchant for a dribble will certainly be a cause for more than just concern. ๐ฌ๐ค That aside he's a gem we have uncovered. ๐ Big thumbs up to old Paratici and I will look forward to a return if he chooses. Along with Pape Sarr, we have some real quality young players. ๐๐
That offensive performance means Ange Postecoglou is really getting a handle on this squad. ๐๐ Every goal was good. A combination of teamwork, vision, experience, and clinical finishing. Really really good. โฝ๐ฅ๐ง ๐ฏ
Whereas I was thinking Sonny needs to come off the bench more, it seems he just needed the right system. He's been there before but often worked with Kane in a tandem that he usually sought to assist instead of grab every opportunity. ๐โฝ๐ค It's not really strange that he won the golden boot the year when Harry Kane was sulking about the failed move to City. ๐ฅ๐๐คฃ
Tons more...but I'm going to contain myself. ๐ ๐ค Lastly, Fulham was a glitch. An unfortunate glitch, but not the standard we should be judged by. ๐๐๐ And as much as some fans are really whack. I mean I actually see some saying we should be sacked. ๐ฑ๐ โโ๏ธ How cray cray is that really? On the other hand, I wouldn't have sacked Conte, and left to me he would still be there. And that would clearly have been bad. Hindsight again is 20/20. ๐คทโโ๏ธ๐คจ
Funnily enough, I have very little criticism for Levy's managerial decisions. All have showed ambition and intent. Everyone knows and knew Nuno was a stop-gap. โฝ๐ But yeah, Fulham was a huge part of this learning curve. And even without watching much of the match, I think we were the better side. ๐๐ค
Takeaway, of course, is that we needed to revamp our forward line. ๐๐ I'm going to say, lesson learned and earned, and Ange showed that today. ๐จโ๐ซ๐ก
Up to today, I still felt our front three were pretty hopeless. Okay, not that bad, but not encouraging to say the least. ๐ฌ๐ Seeing what happened today, I'm satisfied we're good. With Sonny finding form. Solomon coming into his own, and hopefully, the young fellow Johnson has some real pace and knows where the back of the net is. Richarlison coming off the bench is a lot more solid attacking contingent than I thought. ๐ชโก๐ฅ
Of course, if we're a big club, with a big club mentality, we will still be looking for upgrades at the nearest juncture. ๐ฐ๐๐ But as I have said elsewhere, we have a very good mix of youthful vitality and age and experience. I would perhaps have thought it fiscally sound for Hojbjerg to move to Atletico. It would have been nice for him too. But persons like him and Perisic, who is even more senior, and Sonny can add that measured maturity to smooth off the edges of impetuousness. ๐๐ง๐ด๐ง
And in all of this, Ange managed the games masterfully. ๐ฎ๐ We could do with an upgrade back-up keeper. But I really like Vicario, especially after the Man U game. ๐งค๐ Otherwise, if I say anything anyone considers negative, you must recognize, I'm a victim of ghosts of Spursy past. ๐ป๐จ Which I hereby banish, with the sword of the house of Postecoglou. Aroo. ๐ก๏ธ๐ ๐ฎ
Okay...I'm gonna stick a pin in it. ๐ I will give you the next chapter...soon. ๐๐ @ ChatterBox... ๐จ๏ธ
