2026 Spring Zone 7 Meeting

Meeting Announcement

The Spring 2026 Zone Meeting for SPS Zone 7 will be held on March 27-28, 2026 on the campus of the Ohio State Universty.  The Ohio State University SPS Chapter #5175 is the local host of the meeting. Please see this Map of Campus to help navigate for the meeting!

The tentative itinerary for the meeting can be seen below. There is no cost for students to attend the zone meeting, however, banquet tickets are $15, and all students need to register at the OSU Zone 7 Spring Meeting Registration Site. Students are asked to register by March 15th.. 

Students are encouraged but not required to present a talk. Abstracts will be submitted via the link on the Zone 7 Spring Meeing Abstract Submission and are due by March 15th. Please consider giving a talk during the student oral presentation sessions on Saturday if you have research to present, which is a great experience for students. Students are not required to be an APS or SPS member to participate in the SPS Zone meeting shown in the schedule below, but, of course, we encourage all students to join SPS to take advantage of its great benefits!  Note that free APS membership  is available for students who are first-time APS members (yes, it's really free!). 

Lodging suggestions: Springhill Suites and Fairfield Inn both have complimentary shuttles to campus, so those are great options for attendees. Fairfield Inn has offered a discounted rate to the first 10 rooms. Booking link to come!

2:30 - 3:00 PM: Plenary Talk  - Alumni Panel [PRB 1080 + 4138]

11:30 AM - 12:30 PM:  SPS Zone 7 Meeting Kick-off Event [MP 1000] 

This event is an opportunity for students to introduce themselves, meet fellow students across the zone, and find out more about the programs and activities of the Society of Physics Students.  This event will be chaired by Associate Zone Councilor Ella Baldwin (Grove City College). Everyone, including faculty and other professionals, are welcome to attend.
