The 2019 Physics Congress (PhysCon) was held at the Rhode Island Convention Center in Providence, Rhode Island, on November 14-16, 2019. During the congress, over 1000 students had the opportunity to go on tours of local university, government labs, and companies, attend a wide variety of interesting sessions, present their work at poster sessions, attend plenary talks with professionals in physics and related fields, and network with other students, faculty, and other physicists from across the country.
Zone 7 was well represented at the Congress with 12 chapters, and multiple chapters presented at the new "Breaking Boundaries" chapter showcase. Associate Zone Councilor Abigail Ambrose from The College of Wooster, and Zone Councilor, Prof. Ronald Kumon from Kettering University represented Zone 7 at the SPS National Council meetings that occurred immediately before and after the event. (Abigail is shown in the banner image above introduce a guest speakers at one of the plenary sessions.) The photo in the carousel below show some highlights from chapters at the showcase and around the congress. (If you have a photo from your chapter that you would like to contribute, please contact the Associate Zone Councilor or Zone Councilor!)
