1964 first printing of the first William Heinemann British edition (reprinted before publication)

Wilbur only signed a small number of copies where he included his middle initial (A. is for Addison). Wilbur explained why he ceased including the "A":

"I thought it [the inclusion of the A in his signature] looked pretentious and it certainly took up much time when I was signing."

Very scarce and desirable.

My grandmother looked after Danielle when she fell ill as a favor to her and Wilbur....all the books were gifts to my grandparents over the years of friendship."
