SIGNED & DATED PRESENTATION COPY of the first printing of the first William Heinemann British edition
Wilbur presented this as a gift to very close friends of his, David and Nel Davies, in Cape Town, South Africa.
The following is from their grandson:
"David and Nel (Nellie) were my grandparents who were good friends with Wilbur and his wife [Danielle]. My grandfather was a plastic surgeon and my grandmother was a nurse. My grandmother looked after Danielle when she fell ill as a favor to her and Wilbur....all the books were gifts to my grandparents over the years of friendship."
You will not find any other signed copy for sale where Wilbur added a date with his signature (except the copy below)!
